Handout Items

The Crisis Center currently stocks various handout items that are useful in recruiting volunteers and communicating services. 

These items include:

  • Volunteer Recruitment Poster

    The poster is approximately 11"wide by 15" high and printed with black, red and yellow colors on an off-white background. 

    The item is perfect for posting to a class or hall bulletin board in a school, church or civic center. 

    The poster clearly displays the Crisis Center's phone number and web site address for the reader to obtain additional information.

  • Magazine - Pathways to Hope: Breaking the Silence

Published annually by the Alabama Coalition Against Rape and the Alabama Department of Public Health, the magazine is written to improve the level of understanding about the subject of sexual abuse.  The magazine covers the following topics:

  • Facts about rape, including current myths,

  • Effects after sexual assault,

  • What to do if you have been raped,

  • Dating violence,

  • Drug facilitated rape,

  • Male rape,

  • Rape in Alabama, and

  • The Rape Crisis Centers located across the state of Alabama.

  • Brochures

The Crisis Center offers tri-folded brochures that open in to 8.5" by 11" size, with printed information on both the front and back sides.  The following brochures are available for volunteers to request:

  • Volunteer Recruitment Brochure - The brochure covers the basic issues related to volunteering at the Crisis Center.  Written is a simple question and answer format. 

  • Legacy Brochure - The brochure covers the basic issues concerning planned giving.  Discusses 10 ways to benefit yourself, your family and your favorite charity.

  • Rape Response Brochure - The brochure covers the issues of personal safety, what to do if you have been assaulted, and the support offered by Rape Response.

  • SANE Brochure - The brochure is written to explain to clients what the SANE facility is designed to accomplish and the function of the Rape Advocate and SANE Nurse.

  • Senior Line Brochure - The brochure explains the purpose of the Senior Line and different types of services that are offered.  The brochure covers main eligibility issues for the Senior Line. The brochure emphasizes that all the services provided by the Senior Line are provided free.

  • Teen Link Brochure - The brochure explains the purpose of the Teen Link Line, what is appropriate to talk about on the line, and who callers talk with when they call.  This document is not a tri-fold document, but has printed material on both sides.

  • Kids' Help Line Brochure - The brochure is written for parents to understand what the Kids' Help line is designed to accomplish and who answers the line.  The brochure emphasizes that the line is not intended to be a substitute for parents, but only an additional resource.

  • Cards and Magnets

The Crisis Center stocks a number of Standard size (2" high by 3.5" long) cards that are excellent to be used a wallet inserts.  The cards are designed to be used as telephone number reminders by individuals that may have a need to contact the Crisis Center.  The following cards are available:

  • Talk It Out Card and Magnet - This slightly oversized (3" high by 3.5" long) card is written specifically for the Crisis / Suicide Line.  The card contains the phone number, hours of operation, who the caller would talk with when they call, and emphasizes the confidentiality of all calls. 

    The card is also available in a magnet format that would be suitable to attach to a refrigerator or any other metal surface.  The magnet format is approximately 2" by 2" and shown below.

  • Information Line Card - This card is written in Spanish for our Spanish speaking clients.  The card contains the phone number of the information line.  It also describes the Spanish telephone line service that is offered by the Crisis Center. 

  • Suicide Card - This is a folded card with printing on the outside, front and back, plus printing on the inside

    • The front of the card contains basic information, including the Crisis / Suicide Line phone number. 

    • The back of the card contains a listing of the warning signs of suicide. 

    • When opened, the size of the card is doubled to 4" high and 2.5" long.  The inside of the card contains a listing of the symptoms of major depression. 

  • SANE Facility Card - The front and back of the card contains basic information about the SANE Facility, along with driving instructions to get to the facility.  The card would be ideal for police or emergency rooms to provide to victims of sexual assault.

  • Senior Line Card and Magnet - The card contains the phone number, the hours of service ,and the services offered by the Senior Line. 

    The Card is also available in a slightly modified magnet format that would be suitable to attach to a refrigerator or any other metal surface.  The magnet format is approximately the same size as the card.

  • Teen Link Card - This card is normal size card, but printed in a portrait format.  The card contains basic information such as the phone number, the Crisis Center's email address, and the hours of service for the Teen Link Line. 

  • Kids' Line Bookmark - This bookmark contains basic information such as the phone number, the Crisis Center's email address, and the hours of service for the Kids' Help Line. 

  • "You make the call." Bumper Stickers

    This item is the size of a normal bumper sticker, but can be used as a bookmarker, book bag decoration, bulletin board material, refrigerator sticker, as well as a great bumper sticker.

All the above items may be picked up at the Crisis Center or they can be mailed directly to you.
