The Crisis Center is a private, not-for-profit organization that receives its funds from several sources.

• Since 1973, the agency has been a member of the United Way of Central Alabama, which provides approximately 52% of the Crisis Center's funding.

• The agency is also funded by several grants: Rape Response receives funding from the Alabama Law Enforcement Planning Division, Alabama Department of Public Health, the City of Birmingham, and Jefferson County

• The Board of Directors also generates funds through several fundraising events.
